Categories are normalized to a unified English taxonomy with a per-country mapping. Searches accept queries in any major European language.
Is the European charity database GDPR-compliant?
Yes. All charity data is sourced from official government registers that are public records by law in each jurisdiction. Officer/trustee names are included only where the source registry publishes them publicly (e.g., UK Charity Commission, ACNC, ANBI; some EU countries restrict to legal representative). Generic charity contact information (info@, contact@) is treated as organizational, not personal data. The right to be forgotten on personal contact data extracted from charity websites is respected via [email protected].
